Remember those classy studs you found in your mother’s jewelry box that make you look just like January Jones from Mad Men? But, doh, they’re clip-on.  Not to worry, dears.  First of all, clip-ons won’t tear your ear holes, confining you to studs for the latter 30 years of your earring-wearing days.  Secondly, they are multi-functional.
